JNA Travel Booking Terms & Conditions

Please read these Booking Terms & Conditions carefully before making a booking with JNA Travel.

These Booking Terms & Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Customer", "you", "your") and JNA Travel ("JNA Travel", "we", "our", "us").

By making a booking through JNA Travel, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

1Australian Consumer Law

1.1 Your Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights, guarantees, warranties, remedies, or protections available under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), including the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Consumer guarantees cannot be excluded by contract.

1.2 Consumer Guarantees

Where JNA Travel supplies services directly to you, those services come with guarantees that they will:

  • Be provided with due care and skill;
  • Be reasonably fit for their intended purpose;
  • Achieve any disclosed purpose you make known to us;
  • Be supplied within a reasonable time if no timeframe has been agreed.

1.3 ACL Remedies

If JNA Travel fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to remedies under the ACL, including:

  • Re-supply of the services;
  • Refunds;
  • Compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage;
  • Cancellation of the service contract where permitted by law.

2Our Role as a Travel Agent

JNA Travel acts as an intermediary and booking agent for third-party travel suppliers including:

  • Airlines
  • Hotels
  • Resorts
  • Tour operators
  • Cruise companies
  • Car rental providers
  • Insurance providers
  • Rail operators
  • Other travel service providers

When we arrange a booking for you, a separate contract is created between you and the relevant travel supplier.

The supplier's booking conditions, fare rules, conditions of carriage, cancellation policies, refund policies and limitations of liability apply in addition to these Terms & Conditions.

We act as agent only and are not the provider of the travel products and services supplied by third parties.

3Eligibility and Booking Authority

You must be at least 18 years of age to make a booking through JNA Travel.

If you make a booking on behalf of other travellers, you warrant that:

  • You have authority to act for all travellers included in the booking;
  • All travellers have authorised you to accept these Terms & Conditions on their behalf;
  • You accept financial responsibility for all payments associated with the booking.

4Travel Documents, Passports and Visas

You are responsible for ensuring all travellers possess:

  • Valid passports;
  • Appropriate visas;
  • Re-entry permits;
  • Health documentation;
  • Vaccination certificates;
  • Any other documents required by relevant government or immigration authorities.

Many countries require passports to remain valid for at least six months beyond the date of return travel.

Failure to possess proper documentation may result in:

  • Denied boarding;
  • Refused entry;
  • Cancellation of travel arrangements;
  • Financial loss.

JNA Travel accepts no responsibility for losses resulting from inadequate or incorrect travel documentation, except where caused by our error.

5Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all travellers obtain comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking.

Travel insurance should cover:

  • Trip cancellation;
  • Medical expenses;
  • Emergency evacuation;
  • Personal injury;
  • Loss or theft of baggage;
  • Travel delays;
  • Personal liability;
  • COVID-19 or other travel disruptions where available.

Travel insurance is the traveller's responsibility.

6Health Requirements

Travellers are responsible for:

  • Meeting all health requirements for travel;
  • Obtaining vaccinations where required;
  • Carrying necessary medical certificates;
  • Seeking medical advice before departure.

Special requests including:

  • Wheelchair assistance;

will be forwarded to suppliers where possible.

However, JNA Travel cannot guarantee supplier approval of such requests.

7Prices and Availability

All prices displayed or quoted are:

  • Subject to availability;
  • Subject to supplier confirmation;
  • Subject to change until ticketed and paid in full.

Price changes may occur due to:

  • Airline fare increases;
  • Currency fluctuations;
  • Fuel surcharges;
  • Government taxes;
  • Airport charges;
  • Supplier repricing.

Prices are only guaranteed once:

  • Full payment has been received; and
  • Tickets or travel documents have been issued.

8Deposits and Payments

A deposit may be required at the time of booking.

Unless otherwise advised:

  • Deposits secure the reservation;
  • Deposits may be non-refundable;
  • Final payment must be received by the due date specified.

Subject to your rights under Australian Consumer Law, failure to make payment may result in cancellation of your booking and forfeiture of any deposit.

JNA Travel reserves the right to cancel any reservation that remains unpaid after the applicable due date.

9Credit Card and Payment Security

To reduce fraud and comply with payment security requirements, JNA Travel may request:

  • Identification documents;
  • Passport copies;
  • Proof of card ownership;
  • Address verification documents.

Failure to provide requested documentation may result in booking cancellation and refund to the original payment method.

Credit card surcharges may apply and will be disclosed before payment.

10Booking Changes Requested by You

If you request a change to a booking:

  • Airline or supplier fees may apply;
  • Fare and tax differences may apply;
  • JNA Travel service fees may apply;

11Cancellations by You

If you cancel your booking:

  • Supplier cancellation fees may apply;
  • Airline penalties may apply;
  • Service fees may be retained;
  • Deposits may be forfeited.

Subject to Australian Consumer Law, some bookings, fares, and promotional rates may be non-refundable.

If a refund is available, the amount refunded will be determined by the supplier's cancellation policy and applicable fare rules.

12Supplier Changes and Cancellations

Travel suppliers may:

  • Cancel services;
  • Change schedules;
  • Change aircraft types;
  • Change accommodation;
  • Alter itineraries.

Where a supplier changes or cancels a service, any refund, credit, replacement service, or compensation will generally be determined by the supplier's terms and conditions.

JNA Travel will provide reasonable assistance in dealing with suppliers but cannot guarantee any specific outcome.

13Refunds

Where refunds are approved:

  • Processing times depend on suppliers;
  • Airlines may take several weeks or months to process refunds;
  • Refunds will normally be made to the original payment method;
  • Currency conversion differences may affect refund values.

JNA Travel will remit supplier refunds promptly once received and cleared.

Any service fees retained by JNA Travel will be disclosed at the time of cancellation.

Nothing in this clause affects your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

In such situations supplier policies and available remedies will apply.

Requests for:

  • Seats;
  • Extra legroom seating;
  • Meals;
  • Bassinets;
  • Wheelchair services;
  • Special assistance;
  • Frequent flyer programs;

are subject to supplier availability and approval.

Even if confirmed initially, airlines and suppliers may alter or cancel these requests at any time for operational, safety or legal reasons.

JNA Travel cannot guarantee any seat allocation or special request.

16Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, JNA Travel is not liable for:

  • Acts or omissions of travel suppliers;
  • Airline schedule changes;
  • Delayed flights;
  • Missed connections;
  • Lost baggage;
  • Supplier insolvency;

  • Injury, illness or death resulting from services supplied by third parties.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, JNA Travel's liability is limited to the remedies available under Australian Consumer Law.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited under applicable law.

17Supplier Insolvency

JNA Travel does not guarantee the financial stability of any supplier.

If a supplier becomes insolvent, enters administration, liquidation, or ceases trading, your rights will generally be against the supplier, insurer, administrator, credit card provider, or any applicable compensation scheme.

Nothing in this clause excludes any rights available under Australian Consumer Law.

Where a travel credit is issued:

  • The supplier's conditions will apply;
  • Expiry dates may apply;
  • Name changes may not be permitted;
  • Travel credits may not be redeemable for cash unless required by law.

Any additional conditions will be advised at the time the credit is issued.

22Unfair Contract Terms

If any provision of these Terms is held to be void, unlawful, unenforceable, or unfair under applicable legislation, that provision will be severed only to the extent necessary and the remainder of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.
